The main challenge was designing two interconnected applications with vastly different user needs: a simple, efficient mobile interface for couriers, and a robust, feature-rich management platform for restaurant owners. It was crucial to create a seamless, real-time experience that balances transparency, efficiency, and control without overwhelming users on either side.
To meet the complex needs of both couriers and restaurant owners, we designed two complementary platforms each optimized for its specific user experience while maintaining a consistent brand identity and seamless communication flow.
For Delvo Partner, the courier-facing app, we focused on empowering couriers through transparency and flexibility. The interface was designed to surface essential information upfront—such as the delivery fee, pickup location, and expected wait time—allowing couriers to make quick decisions. We introduced a smart suggestion system that notifies couriers about nearby additional deliveries from the same restaurant, helping them increase their earnings and optimize routes. A real-time chat feature enables direct communication with both the restaurant and the customer, reducing friction and dependency on call centers.
For Delvo Business, the restaurant app, we crafted a powerful control center with a clear structure and intuitive workflows. Restaurant owners can receive and manage orders from multiple sources (POS, phone, or app), assign deliveries to available couriers, and even suggest the compensation they’re willing to offer. The dashboard includes tools to update prep and pickup times, track courier status, and manage communications all from a single interface. We also implemented logic to surface preferred couriers based on reliability, location, and past performance.
Additionally, we designed a lightweight web app for end-customers, providing real-time tracking of their delivery. Once a delivery is en route, the customer receives an SMS with a link to a live delivery tracker. This ensures transparency, reduces uncertainty, and adds a layer of trust to the overall delivery experience without requiring the user to install an app.
Throughout both products, we applied a user-first approach, ensuring fast onboarding, visual clarity, and mobile responsiveness. Microinteractions, smart defaults, and contextual prompts were used to reduce cognitive load and create an experience that feels both professional and intuitive.
The end result is a robust delivery ecosystem that bridges the operational gap between restaurants and couriers, increases delivery efficiency, and builds trust through real-time transparency and seamless control.
